1 / STARTING STATEMENT

In two secondary classes of high school were found violent remarks between students, discriminatory or vexing, a lack of respect for others worrying.

2 / OBJECTIVES

Faced with this situation, the teaching team decided to use a fun tool to :
- Make students aware of the notion of respect for what the other person can feel.
- Improve communication within the group.

3 / SETTING UP PREVENTIVE ACTION : THE FEELINGS GAME WORKSHOP

The game Feelings, simple and easily playable is based on situations around discrimination. Each student is led to express their feelings about a given situation, and to guess the feelings of a student partner. This putting into play of the empathy of each one favors the debate and the questioning of the prejudices.

As part of the personalized help time (AP), each of the two classes benefits from three workshop-Feelings sessions, supervised by a minimum of three adults, for one weekly session.

4 / STUDENT REVIEW FROM A QUESTIONNAIRE CARRIED OUT BY ADULTS

The project put in place was mostly welcomed, the playful tool seemed appropriate so that everyone has the feeling of being able to express themselves and be heard, by addressing the "sensitive" themes.

The impact of the workshop is positive for both classes, with a better overall feeling of mutual respect.

It should be noted that the answers are more precise when the questionnaire is filled remotely from the experience.

Finally, the vast majority of students emphasize the interest of renewing this action in first class, and consider it useful to propose it to other classes.

5 / CONCLUSIONS OF ADULTS

It proved rather interesting to build a multidisciplinary team to supervise the sessions.

The preliminary objectives have been achieved. The Feelings workshop-game has allowed pupils to gradually become aware of the importance of approaching questions around living together, in a space where listening to each other and mutual respect are the rule.

6 / OUTLOOK FOR THE NEXT YEAR

Terms of the action :
- Set up slots of one hour and a half and a number of sessions more important.
- Keep the multidisciplinary team.
- Choose classes after consultation between the different actors of the education system.
- Provide training so that other adults can get involved in the project.
- Consider a report at the end of each action (students and adults).
